A successful Pañchakarma practice requires a collaborative environment. Our staff is structured in such a way that the necessary support is provided on many levels. Here is an overview of the various Āyurvedic job positions on our staff.
Āyurvedic Specialist or Vaidya
A Vaidya assesses the patient according to Traditional Āyurvedic Medicine and determines the course of treatment during Pañchakarma. The Vaidya is the cornerstone to the Pañchakarma process. The Vaidya evaluates the patient throughout the program to determine the proper course of action. The Vaidya oversees the therapies, diet and formulations and assists in patient care post-Pañchakarma.
Āyurvedic Practitioners (svastha āchāryas) are assistants to the Vaidyas. They are trained in the language and concepts of Traditional Āyurvedic Medicine and often assist in the intake process. They provide the patient with guidance throughout the Pañchakarma process and they communicate with the medical doctor and Vaidya as the patient undergoes the Pañchakarma program.
Pañchakarma technicians (parichārakas) are meticulously trained in Traditional Āyurvedic Medicine techniques for clinical practice. Parichārakas work alongside Vaidyas and in collaboration together to provide the Āyurvedic body treatments of the pañchakarma program. Parichārakas help to ensure the patient’s Pañchakarma experience is optimal and supportive.
Another team of Pañchakarma technicians assists with the management of the patient’s Ayurvedic formulations and specially prepared foods which are essential to the Pañchakarma process.
